Products
Yes. Our smocks, gilets and headwear are made in Oldbury in the Black Country, our quarter zips in Leicester, and our polos in a family-run factory near Stoke-on-Trent.
No, and we won’t pretend otherwise. We source in Britain where we can, but some technical fabrics, such as Cordura, aren’t made here. Every garment is made here.
No, they don’t. Our wax smocks don’t carry the strong smell some wax jackets are known for.
They are waterproof and windproof, and we’ve pressure-washed one on camera to prove it. Each product page sets out what that piece is built for.
They’re built for cold as well as wet. Plenty of customers wear theirs most days through the winter. If you like a thick jumper underneath, check the size guide first.
Numbered pieces, including our smocks and the Harlequin Polo, carry their own number, so no two are the same. Customers often compare numbers when they spot another Lockwood.
SIZING
Use the size guide on each product page. If you’re unsure, get in touch with your height and chest size and we’ll give you an honest recommendation.
Our smocks have a tailored fit. If you’re between sizes, or want room for a thick layer underneath, we’d suggest going up a size.
[Our sizes currently run from X to X.] We hear the requests for bigger chests and longer fits, and we’re looking at them.
