A Thousand Orders and We're Just Getting Started

I'm writing this one week into married life, and I'll be honest with you it's been about as far from a honeymoon as you can imagine. Which, if you know anything about how this brand has been built, probably doesn't surprise you in the slightest.

This week has been straight back to it. And quietly, somewhere in the middle of all of it, we hit a milestone I want to mark properly.

One thousand orders.

Not a thousand followers. Not a thousand likes. A thousand people, real people, who looked at what we're making here at Lockwood, decided it was worth their money, and trusted us enough to buy. I don't take that lightly for a single second. Two years ago, this didn't exist. September 2024 was our very first sale.(Blake you legend order No1) And now, here we are.

Thank you. Genuinely. Every single one of you is part of this.

Behind the Scenes This Week Organisation and Preparation

Most of this week has been spent somewhere less glamorous than a show field at the desk, building out content plans and a detailed budget forecast to get us from now through to the big September restock. For the first time in company history, we are going to have everything in stock simultaneously. Every smock, every gilet, every polo top all available, all at once. That's what we're building towards, and from late August through mid-September, it's going to happen.

The boiled wool alone arrived on a pallet eight feet tall earlier in the week. Seven feet. I stood next to it and just looked at it for a moment. What we've created together in less than two years is extraordinary.

National Game Fair, We're Ready

Final preparations are well underway for the National Game Fair at the end of this week, and I am genuinely excited about this one. Our pitch is a full six-by-six metres the same size as our biggest ever stand at Badminton International Horse Trials and we're going to make every inch of it count.

Phil.... A Morning I Won't Forget

On Wednesday morning the eve of England's World Cup match against Argentina I drove down to spend the morning with a Falklands War veteran named Phil. He'd got in touch through social media asking about sizing for a Falklands Wax Smock. I told him I'd come down, meet him in person, and size him up properly.

I've been to the Falkland Islands myself. I've stood on those battlefields. I've looked at that landscape and tried to comprehend what happened there. But hearing it first hand from someone who was actually there, in those conditions, in that conflict is something else entirely.

We sat down, had a proper conversation, and Phil shared his experiences with a generosity that I found genuinely humbling. We also talked at length about PTSD, about mental health in and out of the military, and about how easy it is for people to forget or perhaps never fully understand exactly what that generation went through in the South Atlantic.

The Falklands Smock was named by our community as a respectful nod to those who served. Meeting Phil made that feel more meaningful than ever.

The Harlequin Shoot and What's Coming on the 31st

While we were down with Phil, we also took the opportunity to do a full photo and video shoot of the British Harlequin polo tops out in the field. Our fastest-selling product ever and seeing them in action, out in the countryside, they look every bit as good as I hoped.

We also shot the Lifeguards polo top all-maroon, clean, considered, and in my view going to be an even faster seller than the Harlequin when it launches on 31st July. The Barracks Gilets Out the Door, Into Your Hands

The full Barracks range is now complete and all the preorders have been sent out this week. The Gentleman's Mons, Gentleman's Knightsbridge, Ladies' Knightsbridge, and Ladies' Victoria — all collected from the factory, all dispatched.

And the messages coming back from people who've received them have been brilliant. That's the bit that never gets old. When something you've put real thought and care into lands on someone's doorstep and they take the time to tell you it's exceeded their expectations that's the whole point.

Ruth and I celebrated our one-week wedding anniversary on Saturday. It was quiet, it was lovely, and it was exactly what we needed before the next show, the next launch, and the next chapter.

A thousand orders. Nearly two years old. Everything in stock for the first time come September.

We're just getting started.
