Three Parts, One Honeymoon & Ruth's First Week at Lockwood

Last week, Ruth and I finally got to take our honeymoon and true to form, we couldn't do it the easy way. We split it into three parts, and by the time it was done it felt like three holidays in one. Here's the full rundown, plus what it means for a few things on the site this week.

Part One: Her Majesty's Dress Collection

We kicked things off revisiting Her Majesty's dress collection, which regular readers will know I've mentioned on here before. It's the kind of place that reminds you why heritage and craftsmanship matter which, if you know Lockwood, is very much the point of everything we do.

Part Two: Two Days of Doing Absolutely Nothing

From there, Ruth's family very kindly treated us to two days at a spa. We barely left the building the whole time, and that was entirely the plan. After a wedding, a business, and everything that comes with both, it was exactly the reset we needed before coming back Tuesday.

Back to Work: Knightsbridge Quarters & Lifeguards Polo

Wednesday was straight back into it a full day packing up orders. Right now the standout favourites flying out the door are the Knightsbridge Quarter Zip and the Lifeguards Polo Top. If you haven't picked either up yet, it's easy to see why they're leading the pack this month.

Part Three: Heather's Cottage & a Visit to Marcel Rodriguez

The final leg took us down to stay at my old business coach Heather Forester's holiday cottage, which she very generously gifted us as a wedding present. While we were down there we called in on Marcel Rodriguez, who fitted me a new hat and while we were there we shifted a good number of Harlequin Polo Tops too. Fair warning, they're currently out of stock on pre order, restock lands next week.

New In: The Blues and Royals Polo Top

We've also got some genuinely exciting news brewing. The Blues and Royals Polo Top is being made as we speak and will land on the website late next week. It's one I'm particularly proud of, so keep an eye on our polo range for the drop.

Since Being Back

Since landing home, it's been heads-down on the unglamorous stuff going through every corner of the site and our other channels making sure everything's aligned and the messaging is consistent across the board. Not exciting, but exactly the kind of foundation-laying that matters when you're building something meant to last.

Fire, Ice & Ruth's First Week

Tonight brings the very last of our wedding gifts a fire and ice spa afternoon, courtesy of our friends Jeremy and Leanne. Anyone who follows the page will know I'm partial to a spot of cold water swimming, so I'm looking forward to this.

And on the business side, Ruth has just started her first full week properly in the company, getting stuck into the day-to-day running of things. It's been brilliant having her hands-on, and you'll be seeing a lot more of her influence around here going forward.

What's Coming Next

  • Harlequin Polo Top restocking next week
  • Blues and Royals Polo Top launching late next week
  • Site-wide messaging clean-up continuing behind the scenes
  • Ruth settling into the day-to-day running of Lockwood

If you believe in buying better, buying British, and buying things that last, you're in the right place. Everything we make at Lockwood Smocks is manufactured right here in the UK, built to last, and designed to earn its place in your wardrobe for years to come.

God bless,

God save the king
