An amazing smock kept me warm throughout the night in 2 degree temperatures with strong wind conditions while loading aircraft. Best bit of kit and worth every penny.
The Hursley is a very attractive outer layer for urban and rural adventures, really well fitting and well tailored with excellent design, materials and manufacturing. Its bombproof, made from very durable materials and most importantly, properly waterproof.
After purchasing multiple failed coats from big brand shops i decided after following Lockwood smocks to go for it. Being super outdoors as a dog walker and equine groom I battle our ever changing weather daily! The minute I felt the Arnham smock I knew this coat would last me for a very long. The detail is just amazing! The extra large hood is a game changer for me with wearing glasses (I can see where I am going). Completely wind proof keeping me super warm in the highest coldest wind and rain just rolls off! Super chuffed thanks again. Abbi
Beautiful made ! Very well designed, not heavy to wear even when wet. Very happy worth every penny
This Arnhem is for my wife. She was over the moon with the quality of the smock and how robust it felt. Putting it on sizing couldn't have been more perfect with the size small fit. It felt comfortable, and she particularly liked the oversized wire hood. She's looking very much forward to remaining dry in the wet north west for a change.
Received my two smocks this week. First impressions before I'd even seen the smocks blew me away by the level of packaging and superior attention to detail. Thinking I couldn't be more blown away I was when I took the smocks out. Fit is perfect. Finish is outstanding. Bearly took the Churchill off over the last 3 days at work. As a gamekeeper in the North West of England I need a waterproof jacket that is actually waterproof, and something hard wearing that will also actually last. This fits every part of that requirement. Fantastic bit of kit that my mates are already wanting a piece of! Total credit to Jacob. Well done. I'm over the moon.

Fits great, build quality is mega, keeps you bone dry and folds down into a daysack better than a keela
Been able to test this out while tretching the New Year’s Eve strom was outside for hours and even decided to put on my normal waterproof jacket to test the difference, within 20 minutes I could tell that this smock was far superior, then anything else on the market from northface to Corinthia I would recommend this to not only the guys and gals I serve with but anyone looking to buy a strong gortex jacket
When folk say that the images don’t do it justice, they mean it, the smock is built to last, wouldn’t be surprised if the outer layer is tab proof at this point. It is also indeed waterproof, if the gaffer getting pressure washed like a combi van wasn’t enough to make you believe, then you’re just stupid. In all absolutely gleaming bit of kit and it cuts down on your layers essentially putting wet kit and a surprisingly good bit of warm kit in 1.
My only gripes with the smock is:
1. the loop fields on each arm could personally do with being slightly bigger to fit reg ship trfs and formation patches on and still fit the flag.
2. the hood is a bit of an arse when wearing under body armour and having a daysack on at the same time.
other than these tiny nit picky things that i struggled to come up with it’s the best thing out there.
maybe next is making on for the paras so they don’t feel left out being nice and dry with a smock on. as ally as this is, to them it’s not a para smock so i doubt they’ll put that down for this.
At 5ft 3 and a size 6-8, I never expect to find kit that fits me perfectly. I run a number of field based exercises and ranges, so I’ve been on the hunt for a waterproof and wind proof smock for a while now.
The smallest Carinthia smock and XXS Keela sizing were both still much too wide and also too long on the sleeve and torso length, so having run out of the usual commercial options, I had given up looking and carried on with issued kit.
I’d seen the JL-EQ Brecon advertised on IG and was really impressed with the waterproof testing video. The fact it’s made in the UK is a bonus. I took the risk and ordered one, and I haven’t been disappointed. It’s more fitted through the torso than the Keela and Carinthia options I’ve tried, so although it’s still a little roomy for me and more true to size for a male fit Small, it’s the first smock I’ve worn which I can comfortably work in and not look like I’ll grow into it!
The material is thicker than most commercial brands, so the chances of damage such as tears is lower, and it’s really well stitched throughout.
Overall my first impression is that it is more durable than other brands, so I’m expecting it to be the first and last smock I purchase, and I’m looking forward to trying it out on exercise.
The best smock I have had. The images don't quite do it justice the quality is amazing. I think this smock is a true game changer.
Great job
Having the first Churchill I am super impressed. I use mine on peg loading in Wales and it keeps the wind and rain out, even the harshest Wales 🏴 can launch at it. It doesn’t let water on the shoulders where heavy loaders bags straps sit all day which is where many fail. Even when on a quad in rain the wet can’t push in.
I would also highly recommend it to someone picking up as the material is robust and will shrug off the scratches and cuts from spurs, beaks and rough game sling modifications.
Excellent product and I am enjoying being the smug one who’s dry on a wet day when others more expensive jackets have failed.
The Lockwood Brecon Smock is, without a doubt, one of the best bits of kit I’ve come across. It’s built to last, combining incredible durability, practicality, and style all in one.
Whether you’re braving the worst weather or tackling tough terrain, this smock has got you covered—literally. The craftsmanship is outstanding, and it’s clear a lot of thought has gone into every detail. If you’re someone who expects your gear to perform as hard as you do, this is worth every penny.
This isn’t just a jacket—it’s an essential bit of kit for anyone who’s serious about the outdoors or needs something they can rely on, no matter the conditions. Whether you’re in the military, love outdoor challenges, or just need dependable gear, the Lockwood Brecon Smock ticks all the boxes.
I’m already looking forward to receiving The Arnhem Smock because, if it’s anything like this, it’s going to be another game-changer. If you’re on the fence, just go for it. You won’t regret it.
The moment I pulled out the bag and had seen the marital it's made of I knew straight away that it's going to last me a long time! Tried it on and it's comfy, warm and fits perfectly for a large (6'2 male 95kgs) I'm looking forward to putting it to the test in the new year, I'm pretty certain that this is the type of kit that will last when you're crawling around not having a good time. Top brand. Good customer service. 10/10 recommend.
