Scotland, Scone Palace, and the Freshest Gilets in the Country

Lockwood at the Scottish Game Fair 2026

There's a first time for everything, and this week brought one of the good ones, our first ever trip to Scotland with Lockwood.

It started on Wednesday evening. We headed to the factory to collect the latest batch straight off the production line, the new Gentleman's Knightsbridge and Ladies' Knightsbridge gilets, fresh out of the building. I made a comment when we were loading the van that if this were food, it'd be the freshest possible, straight from the factory floor to a trade event 400 miles north. There's something quietly satisfying about that. No middlemen, no warehousing delay, no compromise. Just made in Britain, on the road the same night.

We travelled up overnight and arrived at Scone Palace, a setting that doesn't need much dressing up. If you've never been to the Scottish Game Fair, it's one of those events that puts everything into perspective about what the country sporting world actually looks like at its best. We were positioned on Gunmakers Row, which felt exactly right for Lockwood.

The Stand — What Sold and What Got Talked About

As has become a pattern this season, the Knightsbridge Quarter-Zip led the way. Show after show, it keeps performing and Scotland was no different. There's a reason it's become one of our most consistent pieces: it sits perfectly between casual and smart, it's made properly, and people can feel that the moment they pick it up. If you haven't got yours yet, you can find it here.

Alongside it, the new Barracks gilets, the Gentleman's Knightsbridge and Ladies' Knightsbridge drew a lot of attention. What was particularly pleasing to see was a number of people buying the Knightsbridge Quarter-Zip and a Knightsbridge gilet together as a layering combination. That's exactly what they're designed for, the quarter-zip as your mid-layer, the gilet over the top and watching customers put that together themselves, without any prompting, is the best possible endorsement. Shop the full gilets range here.

What's Coming Next — Two New Polo Tops Worth Getting Excited About

While we were up in Scotland, we were also receiving sample images from the factory of two upcoming pieces, and I want to say a little about both of them because they're genuinely different to anything we've done before.

The first is the British Harlequin polo top. Each panel can be red, white, or blue which, when you work out the combinations, gives you over 4.7 million possible variations of the same garment. Every one will be individually numbered. That's not a gimmick, it means your polo top is genuinely one of a kind, in a way that very few pieces of clothing ever are. We're putting real thought into how we launch this, and if you want 48-hour early access to purchase before it goes live to the public, the way to get that is through our Instagram @lockwood_smocks either watch the stories for the link, or message the page directly. You can also reach us through the WhatsApp on the website. First come, first served.

The second is the Lifeguards polo top an all-maroon piece, clean and considered, with that same attention to British craft that runs through everything we make. Early access to this one will also come through the 48hr early access sign up mailing list, so if you're not already signed up, now is a very good time to do that.

Both of these are going to be standout pieces. Keep your eyes open.

The Drive Home

We left Scotland on Sunday night, drove the length of the country, and pulled through the door at half past one on Monday morning just in time to catch the England match. The show circuit is not always glamorous. But it is always worth it.

First time in Scotland with Lockwood. It won't be the last.

Thank you to everyone who came to find us at Scone Palace. You're part of something that's being built properly, from the ground up, one show at a time.

God bless, God save the King.

Jacob Lockwood
