At Lockwood Smocks, things have been moving at full gallop—literally. From launching new smock designs to getting out in the field with our community, there’s a lot to share. I’m passionate about keeping everything 100% British-made, supporting our equestrian and military communities, and pushing boundaries in functional, stylish outerwear for the outdoors.
I’m incredibly proud to officially announce Lockwood Smocks’ first sponsored rider: Lucy.
Lucy is a partner at The Rock Dental Practice in Yelverton, and somehow still finds the time to juggle her career, two rugby-mad little boys, and her passion for eventing. She rides Waternish Bridle Lane, an exciting horse owned and bred by Trilby Crewes at TB Equestrian near Bodmin, Cornwall.
Today marked Lucy and Bridle Lane’s first British Eventing run together, and they only went and placed 5th! The pair have their eyes set on qualifying for the Badminton Grassroots Championships, and I couldn’t be more excited to support them through the 2025 season. It’s riders like Lucy who embody the grit, commitment, and joy that Lockwood Smocks is built around.
Lockwood Smocks in the Field
I’ve also been out and about attending events like Moreton BE, soaking up the atmosphere and sharing sneak peeks behind the scenes on our Instagram. It’s always a privilege to see my smocks in action, whether it’s sheltering a photographer on the sidelines, keeping a groom warm at the lorry, or protecting a rider during a soggy cross-country walk.
Designed for Life Outdoors
Whether you’re up on the moors, mucking out at the yard, or pushing through a downpour on exercise, our smocks are built to perform. Take the Churchill Smock, for example—it features a metal-brimmed hood that holds its shape against wild British weather and Velcro TRF patches for military applications, all while looking sharp enough to wear to the pub after a day outdoors.
Every smock is handmade in Barnstaple, using 100% British-manufactured materials, keeping traditional skills alive while supporting the local economy.
Supporting the Next Generation
Beyond gear, I’m proud to support organisations like the Ebony Horse Club in Brixton, helping introduce inner-city young people to the world of horses. My mission with Lockwood has always been about more than smocks—it’s about community, opportunity, and raising the standard for what British-made means in 2025.
